Craft Cellar

I am afraid that the glimpse into my craft cellar is not as spectacular as the movie that Simone did on her blog. I am still a FAR cry away from being organized and this is only a glimpse of two sides of the area. However, for me this is progress and the more that I can bring down here and organize the more craft efficient I will become and be able to use all of the supplies that I have been hoarding.

Here is the left side of my desk down in the craft cellar/office. I will eventually show you the right side of the desk once I clean it off.

Next to my desk is a horizontal two drawer (only one drawer is in it)file cabinet. On top of the cabinet is the big box that holds my Christmas tree. I have decided to use the top of the box to store crafty goodness.

Here is another picture of the top of the tree box and beyond to the corner of the basement. The black and white boxes stacked up hold sewing patterns.

There is a table that holds my sewing machine and serger. That table is full of unorganized crafting stuff so I will take a picture when I am not embarassed of the clutter. On the left hand side of the table I have stacking boxes that I bought at JoAnn's. Each package had three boxes inside and they "nest" when they are not full. I have used my trusty label maker and each box is labeled with the contents (chipboard, stickers, 3-D stickers, alphabet stickers and numbers, Disney...). To the left of the boxes is an IOPC (mfg name) that my company reps. When we moved in July this unit was not coming to the new office. I got it for free!!! The top has moveable 8-1/2x11" trays and holds the craft store cardstock on the right and SU cardstock on the left.

To the left of the IOPC unit is another sewing machine in a cabinet. On top of the cabinet I have stacked 12x12" plastic paper storage and have separated my paper by color. To the left of that tower are two small IOPC units that have stuff stuffed into the trays that need to be pulled out and organized. It is a far cry from organized but much better than having all of this stuff up in my bedroom and everywhere else in the house just laying around.

Here is a full shot of the IOPC unit. The cabinet on the bottom has one shelf inside. This entire thing is filled up SU stamp sets.

RAK Sent

Okay, so this is the stuff that I sent out for the January RAK that I spoke of in a previous post. These items are on their way to Florida. The card was from my last SU demo in November. I left it blank so that Florence could use it herself. I had the card and wanted to make sure that these items got out in time and that I wasn't holding it up trying to come up with a January card idea. The stickers (I did not photograph all the stickers sheets) and the mini scrapbook package are for her to use in crafty projects of her own. The blue/yellow items are a notebook and pen set for making lists of ideas or supplies that need to be purchased. I hope that Florence enjoys her items.

RAK from Down Under

I have FINALLY taken the pictures of the RAK that I received from Tess. Tess resides in Queensland Australia and was a participant in Jen's November RAK. Tess made me this great card (don't you just love the kangaroo) and also sent me some great supplies to play with. Chipboard letters, some fabric flowers and a kit that will utilize my sewing machine. I am looking forward to using all of these supplies in the near future and will post any creations that I make with them. Tess, I apologize for the delay in acknowledging your kindness and send you many, many thanks.

No Calories / No Cavities

As I promised in an earlier post, I began to purge my stash of embellishments. The bag in the back is foam hearts. The remainder consists of buttons, three dimensional wood and plastic, shaped brads, shaped eyelets and just ole' run of the mill mini eyelets. To get this candy just leave a comment on this post by 11/9/2007. I will put all of the names in a hat and have my brother pick a winner on Saturday. I will post the winner on Monday in the blog.

The 12 Step Program

I don't know if there is a twelve step program for crafters but sometimes I think that there should be.

For those of you who know me or have read the posts on this blog I have been purging my house. After 22 years and a bad case of hoarding it became a necessity to purge.

So, I confess, I am a hoarder of many things (shoes, wrapping paper, pins...) but for this post I'll stick to the crafting hoards. Well, just from the crafting side, I am a rubber stamp whore. I have two cabinets filled with the rubber goodness, many of which are virgins in that they have never been pushed into an ink pad and gotten applied to paper. When I became a SU demo it became worse (the discount and all). When I sorted my 12x12" paper by color group it became apparent that I am a paper whore. It's those darn coupons for Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics (oh, don't get me started on the hoards of fabric, LOL). I can't walk out of a craft store without making a purchase and paper just seems to fly off of the shelf into my hand then into my cart. Anywho, I digress, back to this morning. I "found" a medium sized padded mailing envelope filled with brads. Four different colored flower brads. Four different colored heart brads. (We're talking packages people, not four brads) Black Weber grill brads, chef hat brads, BBQ fork brads, and red apron brads. Shoe brads, purse brads and lipstick brads. From just ONE mailing envelope. So, being the newly organized person that I am trying to be I went to my embellishment storage and low and behold, no where to put these fine treasures without purging. So I will be sorting through my stash and coming up with some blog candy to share with other crafters. I will try to do it a.s.a.p. and will post the give aways. So, your job, come on back in the near future and participate in helping me find a cure to my addiction.
